As Arnold Schwarzenegger put it, “one of the best feelings in the gym is the pump”. But what is “the pump?” and what does it do? SO WHAT IS A PUMP?

Well a pump is what happens when your muscle swells up during a workout, which is caused by an excessive amount of blood flowing into the muscle. This type of training is commonly referred to as “pump training” since you're engaging in the act of “pumping up” the muscles but a good way to get the full benefits of this type of training is to work it into your strength training as it's a great way to exhaust your muscles and can also help improve development in any lagging body parts.
