On his other sporting achievements, Matt says:

"Aged 17, Reaching the Final 10 out of 5,000 British competitors aged 16-19 in the British Fitness Competition Filmed and Televised by BBC ONE, the show was called 'Born to Win'. It was a competition where 5,000 competitors attended regional fitness trials including basic fitness tests such as - the bleep test, 20meter shuttle runs, press ups in one minute, sit ups in one minute, standing long jump, and standing high jump. Scores were gathered for all performers and the top 32 scores out of 5,000 were then selected to attend a 4 day national trial at Loughborough University, where we underwent more complex physical tests. these tests were - 15 meter sprints, 60 meter sprints, Medicine Ball throw, Maximum Chin Ups in one attempt, Standing long jump (3 bounds in one attempt), Batak agility test, Foot agility test, One Mile on a bike as fast as possible, Hand Eye shooting, and a 5K cross country run. From these tests, 32 were then deducted to 16, where interviews with Colin  Jackson, and Sally Gunnell then decided on the final 10 with results of the  tests in mind. Then the Final was Filmed in Austria by the BBC.

Similar to this, aged 18, i was then selected to represent Cardiff In a fitness competition / gameshow by the ITV, only this time it was a senior competition and competing against 13 other major British Cities. The trials were done in a similar fashion as the BBC show with the basic fitness tests. 4 Males including myself and 2 Females were then selected from the tests to compete for our City."
