Chris Phelps

Chris Phelps is an up and coming power lifter from North Wales who competes in the British power lifting organization. He has been competing since September, and has thus far competed 3 times winning gold twice and silver once. Chris’s first competition was in Swansea where he came first with a 180squat, 117.5kilo bench and a 200 deadlift.

In this competition Chris set a new British record for bench press of 117.5kilo and also got invited to the world championship in Bath in November where he competed twice at two different weight classes over the 6day event. On the first day of competing he came second with lifts of a 180squat, 120 bench and a 217.5 deadlift, on this day he broke the British bench press record that he had previously set in September.

On the last day of the competition he competed at the 75 kilo, he entered in the single deadlift championship and finished with gold, setting a new British and world deadlift record of 220.5 kgs.
