Here's how Paul sums up 2006: "Well I won the IDFPA Irish Open Bench Press Championships with a double bodyweight bench press, I then won the IPO (Irish Powerlifting Organisation) Irish Open Bench Press Championships, qualifying for the WPF World Bench Press Championships where I won a silver medal in the open, My best bench at this point was about 2.15 times bodyweight althought the judges called it a no lift... I thought it went up OK, ha ha!  All the above was done in the 75kg category but I weighted in around 70kg well stuffed lol!  I could still make 67.5kg but a fellow from holland was benching 180kg at 67.5kg so I thought I better move up lol, my deadlift is better than his (evil laughter).  I will be training the the national powerlifting team and will keep you updated on the results! I also had the consulation of training three of the Irish team lifters to medals.  I've been training all three lads for some time now and they've come on leaps and bounds.  Saurabh Kamble got Gold in the junior 75kg category, John Goudy got sliver in the junior 100kg and Peter "the Great"  Van Merkom got bronze in the open 82.5kg class "

In 2007 Paul was the head coach of the Northern Ireland International
Powerlifting Team. Paul had also started a powerlifting club called 'Centaur'. In a space of 6 months and 3 competitions they've accumulated numerous local, regional, national, European and World drug free powerlifting records. In doing so they have won the British Drug Free Powerlifting Records. In doing so they have also won the "Best club in Ireland" trophy in the national single lifts. All of these young men have been coached by Paul. Bellow are some of the best lifts:
