Chris Curtis - "The Crippler"
Professional Wrestler
"The Crippler" Christopher Curtis started training in several forms of martial arts at the age of 9 eventually earning his first Black Belt at the age of 14. Five years later at the age of 19 he pursued a lifelong ambition when Mike Weaver started training him in the art of professional wrestling, whilst he also maintained a demanding schedule by learning submission wrestling as well. After two years of hard training he turned pro with Dale Martin Promotions of ITV's World of Sport Fame.
In 1993 at the age of 23 he wrestled in Blackpool for the shoot- style promotion that trained William Regal, well known for his stint in the WCW and his current tenure in the WWE. He also worked on some of the same cards as Dynamite Kid Tom Billington and as half of the popular Tag Team The British Bulldogs.
In 1999 Chris gained significant exposure from appearing on shows such as ITV's "Trisha", BBC's "Midlands Today", Channel Four's "The Big Breakfast and Sky TV's "Bravo". In addition he both promoted and competed in the UK's first ever hardcore match aired on the European Satelite TV programme RTL. Combined with his features in national UK newspapers including The Mirror, The Sport and The Daily Star, he defied the common misconception that wrestlers are mindless brutes, with commendable appearances that proved that wrestlers do have brains!
