Ray Sweetlove
2010 Irish Open Slalom Race1- ICUSANC-C2 Slalom
Ray is a canoeist and kayaker with a drive for competitive sports. his main competitive discipline is currently C2 slalom, which he forms one part of a two man team with team mate Nigel Graham, Ray is the stern man, they are part of the Northern Ireland Canoe Slalom Squad, and have found 1st place victory in all of their competitions recorded under regulatory organizations and free lance agencies and are currently ranked number 1 in N Ireland and Ireland. He is also a member of the Band of Brothers Canoe polo team who compete in canoe polo events in both Ireland and mainland Europe, competing at a National & International Competition Levels. To date they have had great publicity and have featured in the N.I. Newsletter, Daily Mail, Guardian, and have also been speaking with canoeing association for upcoming interviews for inclusion with the BCU Newsletter, CANI Newsletter and the ICU E-zine.

Future goals:
Having won the Irish open they have been selected to represent the Country at the Pan Celtic Championships this year, their future goal is to place high in the rankings to obtain selection for the World games, in achieving this goal they will be given the privilege to represent Ireland in the continuing, World & European Championship competitions Their long term goals are to secure the next 3years 1st place in the Irish National Canoe team and in doing so be privileged to try out in the pre-trial’s at the 2012 European Championships for the representing of Ireland in the upcoming 2012 Olympic Games.
