Owen Gayle
Professional MMA Fighter
At the age of four Owen attended regular WTF Taekwondo classes that led him to achieve a black belt at the age of eight. This tilted him the youngest within the United Kingdom up until 2007.
Following this achievement Owen gained a 2nd Dan black belt at the age of twelve which enabled him to take part in over thirty full contact fights. Having this ambition he wanted to challenge himself to a higher level as he felt Taekwondo was restricting in some ways. Having this opinion Owen gained much interest within the sport of MMA. He has been attending MMA sessions for nearly two years and has already gained many achievements within this short period of time.
As an amateur he successfully won both his fights via KO within 30 seconds which lead to him competing as a Semi – professional. Within this time Owen fought a total of three fights, however lost only one. He fought in his professional Debut (U57kg flyweight) on 18th September 2010 on Shock n Awe 5 and won via TKO (Ground n Pound) in 30 seconds of round 1.
Owen is currently a professional MMA fighter and he is now training full time and is extremely dedicated to this as it is something he enjoys and thrives to succeed in. Alongside this, Owen is a Level 3 – REPS qualified personal trainer and has been personal training many clients for the past two years. Having these achievements under his belt, Owen feels that there is always more ways to improve and advance your personal skills. In the near future he aims to take his MMA training to the US, Brazil & Thailand to be able to experience MMA at its highest level.
His Future Goals are:
- To fight in the WEC in USA and also fight in Japan.
- He also aspires to be ranked the number one professional flyweight in the UK and then the world.
Owen now has a proffesional MMA record of 3.1.0 and is currently ranked Flyweight number 8 in the UK.
