Joe Thomas

Joe is a 20 year old athlete, competing for Cardiff AC and Wales. His specialist distance is 800 metres, however he has recently run a series of 400 meter races and intends to run both 400m and 800m races this season.

Joe's achievements for 2007/2008 season are:

• Ranked 1st in Wales, 3rd in Britain, 10th in Europe for his current age group over 800m
• Ranked 1st in Wales without the specific training and use of starting blocks over 400m
• Ranked 5th in Britain as senior
• Current indoor Senior and Junior Welsh Champion, holding the record for the fastest time run at the welsh championships as well as being the 2nd fastest person ever in Wales for his age group: 800pb- 1.48.82 and 400pb- 48.4
• Won under 23 British Championships and finished 4th in the Olympic trials
• TV exposure when beating Andy Baderly in Celtic Games and the Olympic trials
• New personal best for 800m- 1.47.94

His goals are to rank amongst the top 5 seniors in Britain and to run the 'B' standard qualifying for the Beijing Olympic games.
