2005 was a great year for Laurence winning almost every title: London, British, European and then the Worlds!
Laurence has gone from an accomplished body building life to powerlifting. Here's what he has to say:
"To date I have competed in 3 natural bodybuilding competitions and 5 Natural Powerlifting competitions.
I won the All Natural Bodybuilding (ANB) U80kgs South East title in 2001 and followed that up with a 7th place in the British Finals.
I then entered the same competition the following year and got 3rd place.
I then took a year off from competition to get over injury and decided in 2004 that I still wanted to compete but had lost the bodybuilding bug and with a young daughter and a full time job, could not dedicate the time to bodybuilding.
I entered my first British Drug Free Powerlifting Assoc (BDFPA) competition in the unequipped division in Wales in July 2004, and won the Welsh Bench Press Title - lifting 182.5kg at a b/w of 94kgs. I then entered and won the U100kg British Bench Press title in the same year, following that up with a 1st place in the World Champs - lifting 185kgs at a b/w 93.5kgs.
I have since won the 2005 London and South East Bench Press title, and more recently won the U100kgs British Bench Press title 2005 for a second time attaining a competition PB of 190kgs at a b/w of 93kgs."
