Charlie Bannigan
NABBA South East 3rd, Class 3
Charlie's life has always been competitive. As a teenager he was succesful showjumper and has played semi-professional rugby until 2004 (National 3, represented Kent in 2000 where reached the County Championship plate final). Having had his share of injuries he decided to pursue a career in the health care profession and hence qualified as an osteopath. Due to his sporting background a great number of his patients are from sporting arena and since 2004 he has been Canterbury Rugby Club's osteopath.
He has been lifting weights since he was 16 and once decided to stop playing rugby he needed a new challenge, so turned to bodybuilding. His first competition was the UKBFF South East qualifier in May 2006 in the first timers. In 2007 Charlie competed in the NABBA South East Qualifier and placed 2nd in Class 3 category. Therefore he's been invited to the NABBA Novice Britain Finals in November 2007.
Charlie's goals for future are to compete each year in the NABBA and UKBFF South east shows with the hope to gain qualification for the respective Britain finals. In the long run though, Charlie would love to qualify for the Mr. Universe.
