Martin Green wins the British Bench Press Championships

Martin Green entered the British Bench Press Championships (BWLA) at the weekend in Birmingham. He lifted the 100kg bodyweight class (actual bodyweight 99.7kg). There were 14 lifters in his class and he won the weight class with his opening lift of 235kg, second place was 220kg. Martin says:

" I would have won the 110kg and 125kg bodyweight classes as well. I attempted 240kg's on my 2nd and 3rd attempts to no avail. I lifted 240kg at the competition last year, but still recovering from shoulder injury so was pleased with the 235kg..."

This is Mike's 10th British Bench Press Title (BWLA). Now that he won the British he will be selected in the British Team and lifting at the World Championships (IPF) in Prague end of June and European Championships (EPF) in Bratislava (beginning of August). Martin's aim is to lift 250kg at the World Championships now that his shoulder is on it's road to recovery.
