Will steroids affect my body?
I'm 17 and am wondering how would small controlled doses of steroids like anavar decca affect my body. There is an 18 year old in my gym on steroids and he is really big and seems fine to me, with no problems. I've heard steroids give you a constant erectiom somtimes 8 hours straight. Is this true?
No matter what anyone tells you, steroids are simply not safe, unless prescribed by a medical doctor for a specific medical condition. Even when prescribed under careful medical supervision, the following (sometimes irreversible) side effects can occur:
- Liver damage
- Kidney failure
- Testicular atrophy and infertility
- Prostatic hypertrophy, which can cause urinary and sexual problems
- Enlargement of the female clitoris
- Elevated cholesterol levels
- Premature closure of the long bone epiphyses, especially in younger users
- Deepening of the female voice, and increase in facial hair
- Acne
- Gynaecomastia, which can lead to impotence, apathy, chronic water retention and decrease in sex drive!
Despite the serious drawbacks on the body as well as the mind, many bodybuilders and athletes are prepared to take the risk for the sake of improved performance. The choice is yours, but is certainly a shortsighted one since the long term effects heavily outweigh the short term results.
All the best,
"Dr Bod"
